Avid DNxHD codec for the Azimuth video servers

BRAM Technologies announces the Avid DNxHD codec support for Azimuth video servers. Azimuth video servers are the core of the SerialCam HD multi-channel system that is developed for synchronous recording of HD video, audio and timecode in multi camera filming of movies, TV shows, concerts, sports and other events.

With the support of Avid DNxHD codec recording of a program can be carried out in MXF container that allows to send this material to Avid Media Composer for further editing. Avid DNxHD codec supports high bit rate of up to 220Mbit, color depth of up to 10 bits per channel, as well as an alpha channel. One of the main features of this format are the support of full HD raster and lack of degradation at multilayered compositions and numerous effects.

SerialCam HD multi channel recording system allows to record at least 8 channels of 1080 HD format on one Azimuth video server. With the increase of a broadcasting company production capacity it is possible to build multi-server configurations with unlimited number of recording channels and preservation of a single control center. SerialCam HD records material in high resolution. Simultaneously, a proxy copy with time code that is used for editing is created. Working with proxy copies saves system resources and speeds up the installation process. With ClipOnLine built-in function editor can start working on the project without waiting for the recording process. This feature allows to make a full multi camera editing in HD format during recording at every workplace in real time without “explosions”.
